Some of Toronto's most prolific underground heavyweights join the DanceRadio.ca team this week, united under the Holisticrat banner and we couldn't be more fucking excited about it!  They can be found Saturday nights on Channel Two live from the T-DOT starting this weekend.  More to come but here's their bios to wet your appetite...

Holistocrat is the name of the show, a term coined by its creators representing two words describing the mantra behind their distinct sound.  Ho-lis-tic- emphasizing the importance of the whole and the interdependence of its parts, and A-ris-to-crat- considered the best of its kind. Combining three sounds unique and independent to their styles, Gio, Tee and Shine combine soulful house with the depth and simplicity of minimal, and a hard sexy  edge of tech. Keeping the importance of music mixing strong, the GTS sound is comprised of the freshest tracks on the underground charts, with layers of  timeless vocals and samples allowing the integrity of our house roots to thrive and bump over the sound of driving beats.

Style cut with edge, Gio remains one of Toronto’s premiere pioneer house music DJ’s. His influence encompasses sounds from his early days of owning Catch 22 and his night Strange Paradise at the Phoenix Concert Theatre. Yet, it was the early days of The Guvernment where his residency became the stepping stone building the blocks, which contribute to the sound of today’s house music scene in Toronto. Having over two decades playing in venues including night clubs, supper clubs, beaches and obscure warehouses jams, Gio’s sound brings forth all that is soulful, groovy and hard in house music.

Ableton programmer for Nelly Furtado and Julie Black, Jason “Dj Shine” Spanu is a     longtime player in the global dance music scene.  With numerous singles, remixes and compilation appearances under his belt, Jason has made his reputation well known among some of the world's top producers and artists.
His performances are a live PA/DJ combination that have rocked dance floors at huge events and underground jams around the globe.

Tee’s style today is attributed to her early days of playing raves and warehouse jams in the mid 90’s and early turn of the millennium. Under her alias Madame Lynx, Tee was responsible for tearing up floors as a resident DJ at System Sound Bar, as well as founding her show on 1groove entitled The Cathouse. Playing with the liking of legendary DJ/Producers Carl Cox, Tiesto, Masters at Work to name a few, she continues to build on her style which she calls “sexytech”.

Tune into the sound of the Holistocrat, a universal language for the elite.
